Who we are

Streets2Schools, Inc. is dedicated to helping individuals navigate court mandates, overcome personal barriers, and create lasting change. Rooted in empathy and driven by evidence-based practices, our programs support healing, accountability, and transformation—empowering people to break cycles and build a better future.

Streets2Schools was born out of a shared vision: to provide individuals with the life skills, insight, and support through an online platform that is often missing from other intervention programs. As longtime advocates in the fields of domestic violence prevention, education, and behavioral change, Dr. Denise Healy and Connie Kelly recognized the urgent need for programs that were not only legally compliant but also accessible and transformational. Dr. Healy’s training, experience, and expertise in education and psychology, coupled with Connie’s expertise in technology, played integral roles in creating S2S’s one-of-a-kind format.

Their work is grounded in research, including Dr. Healy’s development of the Love and Compassion Cycle. This powerful intervention model explores how unprocessed trauma, suppressed emotion, and distorted beliefs contribute to cycles of harm. The model prioritizes accountability without shame and change without coercion, helping individuals shift behavior from a place of internal awareness and self-leadership.

This research-backed approach is the heart of Streets2Schools—and it’s now being delivered in a completely online format, making it one of the first of its kind. This is groundbreaking access to high-impact behavioral education that was once only available through in-person court programs. With flexible schedules, real-time reporting, and multiple session lengths (16, 26, 34, and 52 weeks), participants can fulfill legal requirements while receiving meaningful support from anywhere.

We offer programs in:

  • Domestic Violence Intervention

  • Parenting Education

  • Anger Management

  • Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)

  • Drug and Alcohol Recovery Support

Additionally, through our professional growth division, Commitment2Change (C2C), we offer coaching, STC-approved trainings, and leadership workshops for probation, corrections, alumni, providers, and individuals seeking personal or professional growth beyond mandates.

With partnerships across California counties and a commitment to cultural relevance and accessibility (including Spanish-language offerings), Streets2Schools continues to lead the way in reimagining justice-linked services. We believe in second chances—and we provide the tools to make them count.

Course Development

Dr. Denise Healy

Our courses are developed under the leadership of Dr. Denise Healy, a California-based educational consultant, school psychologist, teacher, and author. With advanced degrees in Educational Leadership and Psychology – Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy, Dr. Healy specializes in systemic family dynamics, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive practices. She earned her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy with a focus on Culture, Diversity, and Social Justice in a Global Context.

Dr. Healy is also the principal investigator behind a groundbreaking 2024 study on domestic violence batterer intervention programs (DV-BIP). Her research—tracking over 1,000 participants at 16, 26, and 52 weeks—offers new insight into the dose-response effect of DV-BIP programs. The findings are helping to refine and improve course durations, particularly for low-level and first-time offenders, to increase program impact and participant success.
