The Intimate Partner Violence Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) is a court-approved, trauma-informed course designed to help individuals recognize the root causes of abusive behavior, understand its impact on intimate partners, and develop healthier ways to engage in relationships. The program promotes personal accountability, emotional insight, and long-term behavior change.
Program Overview
Participants attend a weekly, 2-hour live group session via secure video conferencing using a phone, tablet, or computer. These sessions are led by trained facilitators and allow for real-time interaction and group discussion.
In addition to the group session, participants complete weekly online coursework, alternating between:
Guided written reflections to deepen understanding, and
Practical application assignments to reinforce behavior change in real-life scenarios.

Course Formats

16 - Week
An early intervention course designed to raise awareness of harmful behavior, introduce healthy relationship strategies, and encourage personal responsibility. Ideal for lower-level offenses or first-time referrals.

A mid-level program that allows participants more time to examine emotional triggers, explore power dynamics, and practice behavior change strategies. Suitable for individuals with moderate risk or ongoing relational issues.

52 - Week
A comprehensive, long-term intervention for individuals with serious or repeated offenses. This program provides deep exploration of relationship patterns, sustained support, and guided skill development for lasting change and accountability.
Meets California Legal Requirements
This program satisfies requirements under California Penal Code 1203.097, including:
Section (B): Participation in ongoing group sessions
Section (F): Completion of structured educational programming
Structured Practicum: Real-world practice and accountability check-ins
Participants must attend all required sessions and complete coursework to receive a Certificate of Completion.
Online Group Video Sessions
